LOUIS C JACOB
Guests to our hotel tend to return. Jacob is like a second home. The 5-star hotel in Hamburg is a sanctuary in the midst of the city. A genuine piece of Hamburg. With a stunning view of the Elbe. And from room service to cuisine, guests can expect the very best. Our hotel in Hamburg has had an eventful past. Over 200 years ago, a cannonball misfired and triggered the establishment of the Jacob as an enterprise. But what’s the tie between a cannonball and a Huguenot in exile?
INTERIOR & LOCATION
The Louis C. Jacob is located where Hamburg is at its most Hanseatic, on Elbchaussee, high above the Elbe. Hamburg’s plush boulevard is definitely one of Germany’s most attractive. White villas surrounded by very old trees, captains’ houses dotted around the steep banks of the Elbe and vast parks characterise the setting. At the same time, the tree-lined bank of the Elbe between the Teufelsbrück and Schulau jetties is a recreational nature conservation area for all Hamburg dwellers and a must for any visitor to the city.
Hamburg is a trending city, and this has been the case since well before the spectacular opening of the Elbphilharmonie. The city on the River Elbe is hugely popular among international guests and residents alike, which has also been confirmed by various city rankings from around the world. The New York Times, for instance, praises the summer feeling to be experienced on the Elbe beach, while Lonely Planet recommends Hamburg’s restaurant and nightlife scene, ranking it among the top ten cities for 2018. And these are but a few declarations of love for Hamburg. What they all have in common: an understanding that life in Hamburg is shaped by contrast, for this city is both raw and beautiful.
This Hanseatic city offers a plethora of stunning views. But the breathtaking outlook on the Elbe from our 5-star hotel in Hamburg is truly unbeatable. And on the way to our hotel you’ll see the city from its most attractive side.
Louis C. Jacob’s maxim is to provide an exclusive contemporary air of Hanseatic calm and composure. In a lively atmosphere and premium location on the Elbe, guests can savour the warm and personal atmosphere created by 143 hosts who leave no stone unturned to ensure every stay’s a pleasant one. The Louis C. Jacob is a hotel for people who (in truth) dislike hotels. Instead of the hectic pace at other establishments, the Louis C. Jacob has the atmosphere of a Hanseatic merchant’s office and is definitely the most private and personal of Hamburg’s top hotels.
No standard solutions, but style as far as the eye can see. Bathrooms made of marble and polished granite, restored Empire-style furniture and designs fashioned from a diverse range of wood – including a walk-in wardrobe that echoes the atmosphere of luxurious cruise ships, handmade rugs on old solid oak flooring and carefully chosen antiques are characteristics of all our 84 rooms and suites.
Points, stars, chef’s hats and spoons are just some of the symbols belonging to all important hotel and restaurant guides. They are indications of Jacob’s Restaurant’s savoir cuire that have earnt it a place among the leading German restaurants. These are high expectations, which Chef de Cuisine Thomas Martin and Jacob’s Restaurant do justice to each and every day.
Weinwirtschaft Kleines Jacob
The Kleines Jacob Wine Bar is right opposite the entrance to the hotel. Young, up-and-coming winegrowers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Alsace and Southern Tyrol have found their niche in Hamburg. Every three months the focus lies on the food and drink of four different German-speaking wine regions. At the same time it’s Hamburg’s popular place to meet up after a successful day, or to draw an evening at the opera or theatre to a close with friends. But even outside the city, the Kleines Jacob has received accolades in the form of the Bib Gourmand presented by the Michelin Guide. This award pays tribute to restaurants that offer very good quality at moderate prices.
The Jacob’s Bar is a Hamburg institution. It’s a place for good conversation in a convivial atmosphere that’s relaxed and informal yet appealing. This is the ideal backdrop for bringing the day to a close. With exceptional rare wines from the bar’s own wine cellar, or with exquisite champagne or sherry specialities. During a traditional high tea, superbly soft leather armchairs entice visitors to the bar. And in the evening sophisticated cocktails are served behind the bar.
The famous Lindenterrasse, designed by Daniel Louis Jacques in 1791, is considered by many to be the most beautiful café in Hamburg. Here you can enjoy coffee and home-made cake, as well as beautiful views of the ships passing by. The atmosphere on the Lindenterrasse inspired the impressionist Max Liebermann to create two of his most famous works.
The Louis C. Jacob Hotel also offers the right setting and spaces for private parties or business meetings. From intimate parties for small groups in the faithfully restored Biedermeier room or an elegant ball in the large Elbsalon. Conferences at Jacob are a success, primarily due to the unforgettable view of the Elbe. Unusually for conference spaces, each room offers daylight and access to the terraces overlooking the Elbe. State-of-the-art multi-media technology and attentive service ensure that creative ideas abound.
LOUIS C JACOB HAMBURG
Comfortable, extravagant, and lascivious elegance meets high requirements for service, quality, and design, which can be experienced by the guests throughout the whole hotel. Roomers Restaurant and Roomers Bar are the hotel’s heart and soul and are not only for hotel guests worth visiting, but also for Frankfurt’s locals who love to party. Another highlight: The skylounge at the sixth level offers an unparalleled view to Frankfurt’s skyline.
OLDTIMER PACKAGE MANNHEIM > PFALZ?
Many ideas were born and created in Mannheim. Some ideas changed the world. For example, the car, which was invented by Carl Benz 1886. We think there is no better place to enjoy a classic oldtimer car and explore the region from Mannheim to the Wine area Pfalz, Heidelberg, Schwetzingen and also Baden-Baden. The SYTE Mannheim offers several oldtimer classic cars.
